Online Holiday Fun – We'll Bring The Crew To You!
Camp Magic, as many of our regular clients know, has continually espoused to be a "SCREEN FREE" program. In fact, that is one of the many things that attracts people to Camp Magic over and over again. Because we know how much our children gain through steady engagement with their imaginations through story, circus, art, music, and movement.
But what if we could take ALL of those amazing things, and offer it to children near and far? Connecting children to each other in a healthy, safe, online environment?
Sometimes due to travel plans, environmental challenges, or health issues, children are unable to partake in programs live.
WHAT HAPPENS THEN??

Sadly we all know the answer. Children can often feel isolated or time is simply eaten up online passively, thus disabling active creativity. Let's face it, no one ever learned to cook a soufflé by watching a cooking show! The only way any of us learns is through doing.
AND THAT IS WHERE OUR FUN BEGINS!
Camp Magic's All New holiday fun gives children a chance to learn, develop, grow, and enjoy the benefits of our community online. WOW! How exciting is that?!! This upcoming April, we are going to be holding our fist two online camps.
WEEK 1: APRIL 6 – 10, 2020
2 – 5pm (Singapore time)
GREAT RULER We are kicking off our online program with a Camp Magic favourite! Great Ruler is a Syrian Folktale that we introduced in our Felucca of Fun program back in 2011.
It is all about a King who finds true love, and a Queen who is not your average queen! Boys and Girls will both enjoy the re-telling of this tale, as we build up arts, craft, circus, movement, and song around the story.

Pastel Drawings
Acrylic Painting (that can be framed afterwards!)
Crowning Craft Project

WEEK 2: APRIL 13 – 17, 2020

BATS IN THE BUKA! A fabulous re-telling of why bats hang upside down. Bats in the Buka was first launched this past January in Australia during the bush fires with a group of children living in the Blue Mountains. It is a wonderful introduction to ecology, bats, and helping animals.
Children will have an opportunity to not only draw bats, and create bat craft, but also sew Bat Wraps – that are used to help baby bats recover after environmental challenges.
We learned through doing this program that children not only love bats, but it reinforced how much they love helping animals too!!

RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, AND BENEFITS OF ONLINE LEARNING Although this is our first series of online holiday fun, founder Katherine McLeod has spent the past 5 years researching, developing, and creating these new online learning platforms. She knows what works best for young audiences, as evident through the Camp Magic programs that have been ongoing for 20 years.

Partaking in actual, on the ground community is a rich way of educating and engaging our children. Increasingly however children are spending more time online as passive viewers. What if we could present a unique package that would challenge that - giving children a more balanced approach to the online environment?
Our new program strives to bridge these two worlds. By connecting children with instructors in real-time – participants are engaged and motivated by both group and facilitator.
Here are just a few of the benefits of this type of online learning:
1. FLEXIBILE: Children can learn anywhere.
2. MOTIVATED through group learning.
3. ENGAGED with online instructors and the group
4. TEACHES children healthy and creative ways of engaging in an online environment.
5. CONNECTS children to the greater community, opening doors to cultural understanding.
